Jeep Trailer

While we are waiting to see what will happen with our teardrop trailer we started a new filler project made from two jeep rear clips. We purchased the rear clips at Davey's Jeep in Ohio.

Sealed Bids

We are accepting sealed bids for the purchase of our trailer. Bid submission forms are available at the Keystone School District's District Office and web site soon. All bids are due by Nov. 18 at 3:00 pm. Minimum bid start at $5,400. We reserve the right to reject any or all bids. The successful bidder will be responsible for all applicable taxes,title and registration fees and Pa residents will be responsible for the enhanced inspection. Our trailer is on display at the Clarion mall so if you are in the area stop in and check it out. We will be selling this trailer by sealed bid so check the blog in the next couple of weeks for more information.

Mike and Zach are spraying the top of the trailer with Raptor Liner by U-Pol to seal it. We used the tintable liner and tinted it with the base coat used to paint the trailer.

Interior Walls & Rear Counter

We used 1/4" birch sheeting for the finish of the inside walls.

We laminated together then planed and sanded 1" x 3/4" pieces of scrap for the counter top in the back of the trailer. Then we cut out a simple design for the trim on both sides of the counter top to top it off.

This is the frame for the cabinets that will be in the back of the trailer.

It is a rubber based liquid truck bed liner that will help protect the wood.

This time we are building our own frame for the trailer. It is made from 2" square tubing .120 wall.

The roof was primed with a special primer made for Rhino liner. It will then be sprayed with Rhino liner.

This is the primer we used on the sides. It will then be blocked sanded and sprayed with basecoat clearcoat.

The roof has had some more work done to it.

All Wood Glue by Smith&Co. was used to glue the 1/2"x 2 1/2" oak trim pieces.

Fill It Epoxy Filler was used to fill the kerfs and screw holes.

The interior cabinets have been finished.

Electrical Work

Today, an interior light was installed. The wiring was soldered and then secured together using thin wall heat shrink tubing from NAPA.

Interior Roof Panels

In the past few days, we have been contouring the birch plywood to fit the shape of the trailer.

The plywood was sprayed with hot water and tensioned with ratchet straps. We also boiled water and layed wet towels on the surface over night.

The ceiling was shaped by forming the birch around the outside, and being adjusted as needed during installation.

Interior Finishing

Counter Top

Here Ian and John are sanding the counter top, which was made like a cutting board from various scraps of wood.

The counter was oiled so that any scratches can be sanded out and surface re-oiled for easy touch ups.

Our hinge was made in the shape of the trailer. The hinges are made of 1/8" steel plate.
